Growing up I had a natural drive to want to be the best in everything I did. Whether it was winning board games or winning first place at a cheer leading competition. It wasn't because I wanted to prove myself to my peers or my parents..but because I wanted to prove it to myself. I think an important part of leadership is proving things to yourself, for yourself. If you are confident in yourself it will reflect in your team and your work. This doesn't mean that you will be perfect, which leads me to my next point. Leadership is progress not perfection. We are only human trying to tackle this huge journey called life. We will make mistakes, we will struggle, we will feel defeated and that is okay. It is what we learn from these minor set backs that help us progress, help us grow.
My Dream: Perfect Timing Events and Design. I want to own my own event planning company specializing in full service wedding planning. I've always wanted to be my own boss, and the little voice in my head said "let's do this shit!" While I chase my dream I know I am in for a really high moments and really low moments. I still have a lot to learn about myself and my leadership philosophy, but with the idea that this is a progress not perfection I have no doubts that this dream is destined to be my reality. So follow me on this journey!
