The Triple Threat

Lions and tigers and bears? Oh My? No this triple threat is about leadership (duh!) In this post I will discuss how level 5 leaders are consistent in the notion that leadership is about the leader, the follower, and the situation.

In my opinion, level 5 leaders have to be very aware of those they work with and how their interactions affect the company as a whole. For example, a level 5 leader thinks about what is best for the company overall even if that means they have to make calls no one wants to make. A recent example I can think of is when my boss for my event company had to painfully let go of one of my fellow interns. She was very competent in her work, and when the time came she was able to deliver perfect and flawless results. However, she was often rude to other interns and acted like a know it all. She also took advantage of our bosses as she was often late or had an above average number of family emergencies occur on event days. It was hard to let go because she did deliver such positive results but for the company, it was best to let her go.
